Is ADHD curable?

My wife doesn’t want our son be put on medication. I don’t want to go to a doctor…yet. Y? I don’t trust them. let say I had some bad experiences with those guys.

Could you give me some sites where I can find some good resources for research. I need to get some printouts to show my wife so we can discuss our son’s situation.

… and thanks to those people who replied to my question. God bless you all.

ADD and ADHD is not cureable. Be sure your son was tested at a clinic that specificially tests for these things. THere is no need to put him on medication if you don’t want to. Things you can do that will help though are to eliminate all the toxic cleaners and laundry products you use in the home as many of these things are registered pesticides and quite toxic. Once you replace all of the cleaners etc in your home clean the home thoroughly with the all natural cleaners. Feed your son lots of fresh foods without dyes and artificial ingredients. Also try using a good grape seed extract product with him and also a good multivitamin but preferably one without lots of dyes and addatives.

they say 1/3 of all the kids who have add and adhd out grow it by the time they graduate. lets hope for starters that he is one of them. it can be controlled some by diet. my son is add and was diagnosed in 1st grade he is a senior and graduates this year. his 10th grade year he decided he did not want to take his meds anymore. he didn’t like the way it made him feel. so there are some really good books at Walden’s book store about controlling it with diet. over the last couple of years my son has leaned how to deal with it. he now takes notes and writes down things not to forget and really watches what he eats and then to work like the meds he uses coffee. figure that one out. during school he takes a coffee break at the nurses office every 4 hours. good luck and work with your wife. this is very hard on both of you and it will be very trying times trying to work it out. always make eye contact with your child when talking to him and repeat it at least 3 times for him. even though this sounds stupid it really does work. my son is proof. this is the way that their brain process things. god bless and good luck.
